JBL Go wireless speaker offers portable jams for pocket change

JBL, Harman’s audio spin-off firm, has just launched the Go wireless speaker, bringing on-the-go audio at a bargain basement price point.

The Go marks up at just £29, and comes in a dizzying array of colours that includes black, red, orange, pink, grey, blue, yellow, and teal.

It’s also a teeny bit of kit, measuring at 2.68 x 3.25 x 1.21 inches, marking it as distinctly portable fare.

JBL’s not revealed much about the audio tech inside, save to say it claims the Go ‘offers big sound for a small buck’.

Michael Mauser, president of Harman’s lifestyle division, said: “This innovative, tiny speaker takes a minimalist approach to size, and does it without sacrificing the maximum in sound.”

“JBL Go is so portable, you simply can’t resist taking it with you. It’s so easy to carry, you’ll want to take it to a picnic, to football games, or just out walking. We’re really pleased to be able to put this speaker in the hands of our customers.”

The Go speaker works wirelessly using Bluetooth connectivity (or AUX-in, if you choose), and carries a battery good for 5 hours of playtime – that’s not earth-shattering, but then this is a pretty cheap speaker.

It also has a built-in speakerphone for hands-free calling, as well as an integrated strap hook to make carrying it a bit easier.

The JBL Go will be available across Europe from the end of March, and will retail for £29 here in the UK.
