Sony could be ready to launch a PS4 and PS Vita bundle, according to a recent online retail listing.
Back in November, Sony Computer Entertainment’s Fergal Gara claimed that a deal to combine Sony’s latest console with its latest handheld was forthcoming, but that it would be a "soft bundle."
In other words, it would come in the form of deals from shops rather than a specific package launched by Sony itself.
A freshly discovered listing over on Amazon France suggests that this may not be the case.
As spotted by Kotaku, the above image has appeared on a listing for an "Ultimate Player Edition" package, which appears to bundle together a PS Vita Slim and a PS4 in a single box.
The box art also shows the PS Vita Slim remote-playing the InFamous: Second Son PS4 game, but it’s unclear whether the bundle includes the game.
The price for this attractive bundle is €579.99, which works out to around £471. This would certainly match Fergal Gera’s earlier assertion that "we expect the gamer to be able to pick that up for under £500."
There’s nothing similar on Amazon UK just yet, but according to the Amazon France listing the Ultimate Player Edition bundle will be released on July 4. There’s time yet for this attractive bundle to make its way across the Channel.
With E3 2014 set to kick off next week, we could even see an official announcement from Sony on such a bundle, so stay tuned for more details.
