Is this the premium Samsung Galaxy F?
Claimed images of the heavily rumoured Samsung Galaxy F have leaked, suggesting the reportedly high-end handset will benefit from a premium metal build.
With the Samsung Galaxy F having been the subject of multiple leaks and rumours in recent weeks – also doing the rounds under the moniker of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime – pictures of the mooted device have now surfaced courtesy of serial tipster @evleaks.
Showing off a rather official looking press render, the prematurely unveiled Samsung Galaxy F picture highlights a phone with a number of similarities to the Samsung Galaxy S5, albeit with a new, brushed metal rear.
Looking set to pack the same 16-megapixel rear-mounted camera and integrated heart rate sensor as the company’s current smartphone flagship, the F has been shown with a back that closer resembled that of the rival HTC One M8.
The S5’s plastic body was heavily criticised at launch and saw the company’s chief mobile designer axed from his job.
Teasing the image via Twitter, the leaked F picture has accompanied by the simply declaration: “Another alleged image of the supposed Samsung Galaxy F.”
According to recent claims, the ‘F’ in the phone’s name stands for ‘fashion’, a moniker presumably offering some reference to the new high-end design.
Although the images appear to show a metal clad handset, a number of LG G3 leaks suggesting the QHD handset would also feature a metal form before landing with a plastic body. As such we suggest these leaks be taken with a slight pinch of salt.
Although Samsung has yet to offer any formal indication as to the existence of such a device, Galaxy F rumours have claimed the phone will land with a 2560 x 1440p QHD display similar to the LG G3, Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 805 CPU and Google’s latest OS.
