E3 2014 will be the platform used to launch Criterion’s new game, with EA Games also providing fresh information on Mirror’s Edge 2.
There will be a host of new games announced at this year’s E3 2014, which runs from June 10 – 12, as there is every year, but now we have a better idea as to what some of those will be.
According to GameTrailers’ E3 2014 events schedule, EA Games will use its press conference on June 9 to announce a brand new Criterion game.
“Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson reveals Battlefield: Hardline and world premieres nearly a half-dozen new games, including updates on Mirror’s Edge, Dragon Age: Inquisition, a new project from Criterion Games and much more,” reads Game Trailers’ schedule.
Criterion Games are responsible for titles including Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Burnout.
The developer has kept all details of its upcoming title completely secret, so we’ve not heard any rumours of what it could be. It’s pretty much confirmed that it will be a brand new IP for the EA Games subsidiary.
EA Games said earlier this year that Criterion Games was “hard at work on a new project for the next-gen consoles as new IP continues to be a major priority”.
As for Mirror’s Edge 2, it looks like EA Games will make Faith’s adventures a key part of its presentation.
The game was announced with a teaser trailer at the E3 2013 gaming conference, but we’ve heard little to nothing on the title since then.
It is being developed by DICE using the Frostbite engine and will arrive on Xbox One, PS4 and PC at some point in the future.
From the looks of the GameTrailers schedule, Crystal Dynamics will also make an announcement exclusively on Spike, potentially the follow up to the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot.
