PS4 gamers are set to receive a Destiny themed treat, with Sony confirming the Destiny Beta release date will be held on July 17 as a PlayStation exclusive.
Although a Destiny Beta will be made available for Xbox One owners at a later date, the July 17 launch of the pre-release gameplay offering will be exclusively available to those with Sony’s latest console offering.
“You’ll be able to play Destiny first on PlayStation,” Andrew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment said in making the announcement.
Confirming the Destiny Beta release during the company’s E3 press conference, the SCE head added: “PlayStation gamers will get their hands on it first starting July 17.”
As well announcing the Destiny Beta release plans, Sony confirmed that a select few will be able to wrap their gamepads around the Bungie developed title even earlier.
A Destiny Alpha will be release this Thursday, June 12.
Not content with giving PS4 gamers the first chance to play Destiny, Sony has confirmed it will celebrate the game’s launch with a new console offering.
A Destiny bundle deal will see Sony launch a white PS4 console, with the lightly hued gaming option landing alongside a copy of the game and a 30 day PlayStation Plus subscription.
The Destiny release date has been set as September 9 for both PS4 and Xbox One.
