Google is currently testing a redesigned Play Store, latest reports have suggested, with images of the revised outlet hitting the web.
With past rumours suggesting Google is working on a redesign to its Apple App Store rival, newly leaked images have hit the web courtesy of a Google employee, hinting that the Android providing digital retail experience will be on the receiving end of a comprehensive update in the near future.
Prematurely offering an insight into the seemingly imminent Google Play Store redesign, YouTube employee Eileen Rivera recently published a screenshot of the revised service online. Although having offered a glimpse at the Play Store overhaul, Rivera’s leaked image was hastily removed.
Showcasing the full collection of Google Play Store services from apps and games to movies and music , the new smartphone and tablet store looks set to scrap its dark colour scheme in favour of a lighter, more refined and clean design.
Although Google has yet to offer any indication on as to when, or indeed if, the revised Google Play Store could be rolled out, it has been suggested that the alterations could come bundled in the upcoming Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie expected to be announced at next month’s Google I/O conference.
Google’s annual developer convention, Google I/O 2013 is expected to see the search turn tech giant focus heavily on its Google Glass eyewear as well as Android 5.0 and its increasing smartphone and tablet efforts. Following last year’s tablet launch, a second-generation Google Nexus 7 is also expected to be announced.
