Halo 4 nominated for Best Game in the Xbox Entertainment Awards

The nominations for the Best Game category of the Xbox Entertainment Awards 2013 have been revealed by Microsoft.

Launched last month, Xbox 360 owners have been asked to vote for their favourite games as part of the Xbox Entertainment Awards 2013, with Xbox exclusive Halo 4 coming out as one of the most popular titles.

The Microsoft Studios title, set around five years after the event of Halo 3, sees the Master Chief return to face the ancient evil threatening the face of the universe and is the latest in the popular series exclusively made for the Xbox.

Also nominated in the Best Game category is tropical survival shooter Far Cry 3, classic war FPS Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, FPS and RPG blend Borderlands 2 and Ubisoft’s action-adventure game Assassin’s Creed 3.

The initial phase of online voting via the Xbox Live dashboard was suspended due to a security breach, which resulted in a number of user’s information being made available online.

Microsoft has now launched a second wave of voting that will last until April 16. Accessible through the Xbox Live dashboard, the winners of the Xbox Entertainment Awards 2013 will be announced the following day.

Anyone voting will be automatically entered into a sweepstake, with prizes on offer including a VIP experience at Gamescom 2013 and an Xbox 360 console complete with Kinect sensor.

Users can also vote for their favourites in other categories, including music and film. There are also awards for the Best Family Game, Best Xbox Live Arcade Game and Best Add On.

Lego Lord of the Rings, Lego Batman 2: DC Heroes and Dance Central 3 are some of those titles nominated under Best Family Game, while The Walking Dead and I Am Alive are among those up for the Best Xbox Live Arcade Game gong.

In the Best Add On category, users can vote for the likes of the Battlefield 3 – Premium content pack or The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Dragonborn DLC among others.
