Samsung could be working on a new range of smartphones branded under the ‘Galaxy H’ moniker.
That’s not a name we’ve come across before from Samsung, so it’s not clear where exactly the line would rank against the company’s other smartphone ranges.
The new line-up has been clued by trademark applications filed with the Korean Intellectual Property Office, as reported by Sammobile.
Samsung’s filings specifically named the Galaxy H1 and Galaxy H7 devices, offering very little clues to the company’s intentions.
According to the report, Samsung made the filing very shortly after it trademarked the Galaxy A6, A8, and A9.

Samsung’s traditionally been quite prolific in its output of devices, so the move to expand its mobile roster isn’t unprecedented.
Most recently, Samsung has launched three new ranges, namely the Galaxy A, Galaxy E, and Galaxy J series.
This more conventional naming system is an effort on Samsung’s part to reduce the complexity of its products for consumers.
Too many different ranges could have the opposite effect, however, with it becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of the company’s goods.
It’s important to note that Samsung might not actually produce a H-series range; the trademark could just be a backup in case it decides to launch the line-up in the future.
