Rumours that Google has tapped up LG to build a new Nexus device have resurfaced in the Korean media.
According to eToday (via GforGames), Google engineers visited LG’s headquarters in South Korea on March 16.
The report claims the engineers are still there, and plan to visit LG’s various subsidiaries, including LG Innotek and LG Display.
There’s no saying for sure that such a visit would indicate LG’s involvement with Nexus, and the visit could be little more than hearsay anyway.
Importantly though, this news follows on from earlier reports that suggested LG would be one of two manufacturers working on this year’s Nexus device line-up – the other OEM being Huawei.
It’s still not clear which manufacturer will produce the smartphone and which will produce the tablet, however.

Recent rumours suggested that Huawei would be handling the smartphone, which would land as the Chinese company’s first Nexus device.
That would leave LG manufacturing the tablet, which would also be a new venture for the firm, having never produced a Nexus tablet.
LG has worked on Nexus devices before, however, having produced both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones.
Motorola and HTC made the most recent devices, specifically the Nexus 6 smartphone and Nexus 9 tablet. Both were met with lukewarm critical reception.
LG’s Nexus smartphones however, were very well received, so perhaps Google is eyeing up the firm to make a new smartphone and restore consumer faith in the Nexus line.
