EE has announced a new Film Club initiative that offers customers a blockbuster film rental every week for just £1.

Orange Wednesdays may have gone the way of the dodo, but EE seems determined to fill the gaping hole in our cheapo film-watching calendars.

EE Film Club is a new partnership with the Wuaki.tv video on demand service that will provide all EE, Orange, and T-Mobile customers in the UK with access to a £1 film rental every week.

In a clear nod to the famously defunct Orange Wednesday cinema ticket offer, EE points out that this new reward scheme was "launched in response to changing customer behaviour," with "1 in 3 UK adults now downloading or streaming films and TV every week."

The offer will apply to Wuaki.tv's entire library of films, including new releases. Wuaki.tv, which is owned by Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten, is said to be "Europe’s fastest growing digital entertainment streaming service," and is accessible across the whole spectrum of connected devices.

EE Film Club will launch on March 30. All you'll need to do to make use of it is by text ‘film’ to 141. You'll then be sent a promotional code which can be redeemed at the Wuaki.tv checkout from Monday to Wednesday.
