Many devices in one
If you thought the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga was a versatile piece of kit, have a look at this. It's a phone, tablet and laptop in one, and it flips, folds, and generally dislocates itself in a bid to serve your every need.
It's equipped with two screens, so you can either run one extra-wide desktop, or two Android apps fullscreen side by side. It runs Windows too, so you can switch at the touch of a button.
Detach one of the screens and it works as a tablet, or a massively-oversized mobile. Using Chrome Remote Desktop, you can access the files stored on the base unit, so you'll never be without that vital spreadsheet/cat falling out of a tree video.
It boasts four cameras, two 7-inch screens, and a full QWERTY keyboard with slide-out touchpad.
The company claims the whole device is amazingly light – just 452g. Which, if correct, is incredible, seeing as the iPad Air 2 tips the scales at 437g. It also says the Slingshot detachable tablet only weighs 145g, which is half the weight of the same-sized Nexus 7. Again, dubious. What isn't up for question is the fact that it's considerably fatter than Apple's slate (24mm to the Air 2's 6.1mm).
It looks too complicated to really capture consumers' attention, but it has already raised $530,000 (way exceeding its funding goal of $10,000) so what do we know. You can find out more about it on the Indiegogo page.
