The antithesis of the iPhone 6 Plus

Phones might be getting bigger, but not every gadget has to tote a 5-inch display.

The TinyScreen is a colour display that's the size of a thumbnail. And it's customisable too, so you can play games, get notifications from your phone, and see other useful info on it.

It shows info from the TinyDuino platform, and comes with a few apps that work right out of the box. So you don't need to know how to code to use it.

You can use the smartwatch, video player and videogame apps all with no programming knowledge whatsoever. You can choose from different watch faces, and it syncs to your Android or iOS smartphone over Bluetooth.

Using the open source app, you can tweak which notifications you receive, like incoming calls, texts, tweets and appointments. Plus you can make your own watch enclosures using a 3D printer. Design your own, or choose a pre-made one, it's up to you.

You can even play games on it, like a tiny PSP. Use either the four buttons alongside the screen, or the Joystick TinyShield add-on. And because it's open source, anyone can make games for it.

Of course, if you are a dab hand at programming, you can use the Arduino Library to make your own uses for the TinyScreen. But programming skills aren't essential.

It's already raised $33,000 of a $15,000 target, and there are still 25 days to go. It's expected to ship in January. For more info, check out the Kickstarter page.
