Netflix Post-Play added to Chromecast

Netflix Post-Play compatibility has been added to the Chromecast in a software update.

The Post-Play feature cues up the next episode of a TV series for you to watch on Netflix – without you having to touch the controls.

Basically, the next episode cues up with the countdown timer, allowing you to binge watch multiple episodes in a row.

It works with movies too, suggesting similar titles for you to watch as soon as the film ends.

The Post-Play feature is already available on the majority of Netflix-compatible devices, but has only just arrived for the Chromecast.

“As we mentioned back in June, we have been working on bringing the Post-Play feature to Chromecast. We are pleased to announce that is now ready and will be available over the next few days to all members using Chromecast with compatible mobile phones or tablets.”

The only difference between Post Play on Chromecast and other devices is that the countdown timer is a little longer. Netflix states that the slightly longer transition between content will allow you to grab your phone or tablet and change or stop the show if you so wish.

To get the feature, you’ll need to update your Netflix app on iOS and Android devices.

Netflix also mentioned that PC support for Post-Play on Chromecast will also be added in the near future.

Of course, you’ll need a Netflix subscription too, which will set you back £5.99 per month.
