GTA 5 tops UK All Format Gaming Chart for second week running

Rockstar Games’ GTA 5 has topped the UK All Format Gaming Chart for the second week running, and the third since the game’s release date.

Despite being knocked off the top spot by FIFA 14 for a week, GTA 5 is staying strong at number 1 for the second consecutive week.

EA Sports title FIFA 14 also retained its number 2 spot ahead of the new release, Skylands Swap Force which debuted at number 3.

Despite its strong start, Swap Force didn’t manage to match the success of its predecessor Skylanders Giants, which entered the chart at number 2 with 35 per cent stronger sales than Swap Force. 37 per cent of sales for the title were for the Wii platform, rather than the next-generation Wii U console.

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y both dropped a place for fourth and fifth respectively, while Beyond Two Souls slipped down to sixth from fifth the week previously.

A top ten entry since its release 17 weeks ago, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is now at number 7, climbing up a place from last week.

At number 8 this week is F1 2013, down a place from last week. It’s a similar story for Just Dance 2014 as well, which is down a place to number 9 this week.

Disney Infinity , another toy-centric title for multiple platforms, rounds off the UK All Format Gaming Chart in tenth place.

Sonic: Lost World, a new Nintendo 3DS and Wii U title, only managed to debut at number 11 due to strong competition in the top 10 this week.

Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD dropped from the top 10 to number 16 this week.
