LG G Flex shows off its curves in leaked pictures and videos

The LG G Flex has been spotted flaunting its curves in some leaked pictures and a first-look video online.

LG’s curved smartphone has leaked in renders previously, but this is the first time we’ve seen the G Flex in the flesh ahead of its rumoured November release date.

The An Argentinian broadcaster called Telefe has published a hands-on video of the LG G Flex, while journalist Federico Ini provided The Verge with the accompanying photographs.

The photos show off the curved LG G Flex, which arcs from top to bottom rather than side-to-side like the Samsung Galaxy Round.

It has a 6-inch display with ultra-thin bezels and features the same rear-mounted buttons as the LG G2.

The G Flex also has a 13-megapixel camera with OIS the same as the flagship LG G2, but as yet we’re unsure whether it will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.

The LG G Flex’s curved design mimicks that of the LG Curved OLED TVs, as the angle means the display turns in at the edges when viewed in landscape mode. With the curved TVs, this is meant to create a more immersive viewing experience, so it will be interesting to see how the curved nature affects smartphone displays.

Due to launch next month in South Korea, the LG G Flex may well never make it to European shores. There’s no planned release for the US, Europe or Latin America as yet.

It’s a similar story for the Samsung Galaxy Round, which is also South Korea exclusive and may not actually be around that long. There are rumours the device is just a prototype and only limited units will ever be available.
