The Apple Watch pre-orders listed with a June shipping estimate will likely ship sooner, according to a concerned customer contacted by the firm’s executive relations team.
An Apple customer, perturbed by only being able to buy the watch online rather than grab it at his local Apple Store re-order reached out to Apple CEO Tim Cook via email.
The Apple fan, who identified himself as Andrew, also expressed concerns over the long wait time customers face for shipping, which for many models is listed only estimated as “June.”
Andrew received a call saying the those models will probably ship sooner but the estimated time frame is conservative so as not to disappoint buyers awaiting delivery.
In a post on the MacRumors forums Andrew described the conversation: “[Apple] said that June pre orders will most likely ship sooner than June. Of course he didn't make any promises, but that's the reason Apple is announcing such an extended ship date after all - to avoid disappointment through false guarantees."
Andrew also asked for answers over why Apple had advertised the release date as April 24 when it won’t be purchasable in store on that date, whole many of those ordering online are unlikely to receive them on launch day.
He told Cook: "I think it'd be silly not to believe that there will be queues lined up around the globe on launch day if the "online exclusive" information regarding the (false) advertisement of a launch day isn't spread soon and fast.”
The representative who called him claimed the issue of the 24/4 marketing and the lack of in store availability is being debated with “great concern” at Apple.

The company has said that its plans aren’t final, so there’s still a faint hope some inventory will be made available in store on April 24.
As it stands all Apple Watch models remain sold out, with around a million unofficially snapped up on Friday.
