The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be formally unveiled during Microsoft’s Build 2015 conference later this month, a new report has suggested.

Coming just weeks after the Surface 3 touched down, it has been claimed the Surface Pro 4 will debut during the San Francisco-based developer meet with Windows 10 in tow.

Citing an unnamed member of Microsoft’s supply chain, Korean outlet DigitTimes has claimed the Surface Pro 4 will be unveiled ahead of release in the second half of the year.

“Microsoft is reportedly planning to unveil its next-generation Surface Pro 4 tablet during the upcoming Build developer conference in April,” the report claims. “The new Surface Pro tablet is estimated to enter mass production in June and will be released along with Windows 10 in the second half of 2015.

Given DigiTimes’ less than glowing track record when it comes to leaks - and Microsoft's lack of confirmation - we must stress these reports should be taken with a pinch of salt for now.

The Build developer conference will be held between April 29 and May 1.

The Surface Pro 4 has long been the subject rumour mill churnings, with the tablet-turn-laptop hybrid widely tipped to land in both 12-inch and 14-inch forms.

Microsoft’s answer to the MacBook Air, the Surface Pro 4 is expected to act as the launch device for the company’s upcoming multi-platform operating system, Windows 10.
