A US start-up is offering to rent out the Apple Watch to willing gadget purveyors as part of a try-before-you-buy scheme.
Called ‘Lumoid’, the fledgling business already offers up a smorgasbord of technology availably for hire, including a healthy roster of existing wearables.
The company has now confirmed, however, that it will be stocking Apple’s first foray into the wearable space, and you can try it out for $45 a week (via TNW).
Both the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport will be available for hire, but Lumoid is skipping over the Apple Watch Edition. That’s unsurprising considering it starts at a price of £8,000.
Interestingly, if you shell out $45 for the Sport edition, you can put $25 towards a purchase of the actual device should it float your tech-laden boat.
Similarly, the Apple Watch proper costs $55 on loan, $30 of which can be re-routed into an actual purchase of the device.

Here’s the bad news – you can’t currently order an Apple Watch, or any other Lumoid product for that matter, internationally.
Fortunately, the website’s FAQ states: “Contact us - if there’s enough demand, we just might start shipping to your country.”
If you are based in the US, however, then you can stick your name down on the waiting list, which will put you in good stead for the fast-approaching April 24 launch.
Apple officially unveiled the Apple Watch back on March 9, revealing that pre-orders for the fresh-faced smartwatch would kick off on March 10.
