The Sony Xperia Z4 looks set to land in September this year, TrustedReviews has learned.
A source with knowledge of the matter told us that the Sony Xperia Z4 ‘will not be released until September 2015’.
That puts it exactly one year on from the release of its predecessor, the Xperia Z3.
This is particularly interesting because Sony recently told us that the company had not moved to a more traditional 12-month product cycle.
It’s worth noting that rumours prior to our Sony interview had all pointed towards a lengthier one-year cycle for the Z4.
Until now, Sony has typically pushed out flagship handsets on a six-monthly basis, but that looks set to change.
The six-monthly cycle has often been to the chagrin of many users who felt as though their devices were being made out-of-date too soon.

Unfortunately Sony won’t give any exact details on the release schedule for the Xperia Z4, so we’ll just have to sit back and wait for now.
Whatever the case, it seems Sony is definitely on track with the Xperia Z4, with the tech giant having just released its Xperia Z4 Tablet at MWC 2015.
We’re expecting the device to mimic the Xperia Z4 Tablet; it looks likely to carry a Snapdragon 810 chip, a thinner chassis, a waterproofed flap-free micro-USB port, and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
Do you think Sony has finally binned its oddball six-month cycle, or will we actually see the Z4 in the coming weeks? Let us know in the comments.
