Misfit has just unveiled its second-ever smart home product, the Misfit Bolt, at this week’s CES 2015 over in Las Vegas.
The fledgling smart bulb touts wireless connectivity, the ability to change colours, and a ‘gentle wake’ feature.
The Bolt bulb is built from a glass dome with a proprietary light-diffusion coating that Misfit talks up as being able to provide wide-angle illumination.
It can be controlled via Misfit’s dedicated Home app – soon to be available on both iOS and Android – and will work seamlessly with Misfit’s sleep-sensing Shine, Flash, and Beddit, for a soothing awakening at the ‘lightest stage of sleep’.
Misfit also says Bolt can be controlled by Logitech’s Harmony Home remote and app, should you want an alternative UX.
It’s also worth mentioning that Bolt’s colour combinations number in the millions, meaning you won’t be short of choice hues at your next impromptu living room rave.

Diana Chang, Bolt’s lead designer, said: “For us, a smart light bulb is not just a vessel for electronic components. It was about enabling our connection to light from darkness.”
“Bolt gives a new twist to an ordinary light source and turns it into a memorable experience.”
Misfit says its Bolt is now available to pre-order, with launch pricing set at $49.99 – that’s around £32.95 in pound sterling.
