Parrot Pot

Audio turn connected devices specialist Parrot has an innovative new smart device on the way, with the Parrot Pot designed to keep you plants lush and alive.

Requiring minimal effort on your part, the aptly-named and sensor-brimmed Parrot Pot monitors your leafy friends, feeding the plant’s vitals back to your Bluetooth 4.0 connected smartphone or tablet.

With sensors monitoring everything from soil moisture and ambient room temperature to light levels and soil fertilisation, the Parrot Pot is a step up on the existing Parrot Flower Power.

Where the Pot really comes into its own, however, it will its automated watering system.

Capable of storing 2 litres of liquid, enough to keep you plant feed for up to a month, the Pot uses its sensors to determine the ideal moments and levels at which your household foliage needs to be watered.

With the app allowing you to tell the Pot exactly what sort of plant it is playing home to, the device can be fine tuned to each plants bespoke needs.

If, for some reason you’re particularly attached to your existing plant pot but want these smart watering abilities, the Parrot H2O plant sensor is also available.

Capable of being attached to a standard plastic water bottle, the H2O benefits from similar tracking methods to the Pot, albeit on an easily moved sensor stick.

Release dates and prices for the two products are still unclear.
