Sony announced that Android 5.0 Lollipop will be coming to the entire range of Xperia Z devices beginning in February 2015.
Mike Fasulo, President and COO of Sony Electronics, made the announcement during Sony’s press conference at CES 2015.
“We made great progress here in the United States market with our critically acclaimed Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3v as well as the exciting new partnership with Verizon in addition to our very strong relationship with T-Mobile and as you may have heard both devices are part of our initiative to bring Android 5.0 Lollipop to the entire Xperia Z series starting globally next month.”
Fasulo didn't provide exact dates or the order that the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z2 and Z1 will be getting the Android update neither did he specifically mention any of the Xperia Z range of tablets.

Not only is Sony committed to bringing Android to it’s flagship range of phones and tablets it’s also adding Android to it’s new range of smart TVs. This gives Android phone and tablet users the ability to throw content from their devices directly to their Sony TV without the need of a separate product like the Chromecast or Roku Streaming Stick.
