The Sony SmartWatch 3 has popped up on the US Google Play Store ahead of the wearable’s upcoming release.
Sony’s first Android Wear powered timepiece, the Sony SmartWatch 3 has been listed alongside a $249.99 (£155) price tag.
Although shown as ‘coming soon’ on the American Google Play Store, the Sony SmartWatch 3 has yet to appear on the UK retail outlet.
Unveiled last month during IFA 2014, Sony has previously stated that the LG G Watch rival will be available in the UK from ‘early October’.
Hardly the most attractive smartwatch currently doing the rounds, the Sony SmartWatch 3 pairs a 1.6-inch, 320 x 320 pixel square display with a 420mAh battery and a selection of colourful neoprene straps.
Featuring 4GB of internal storage – which allows the device to act as a standalone music player – the SmartWatch 3 can be connected to Bluetooth headphones for easier, on the move, listening.
Discussing the watch’s further features, Sony has stated: “For the SmartWatch 3 we will have a remote control application so you can change channels and remotely control your TV using the smartwatch.”
The company added: “You can also use the watch to remotely take pictures from a Sony smartphone or QX10 lens camera.”
