Samsung will launch four new tablets in the first quarter of 2014, aiming to grab a larger segment of the tablet market.
The South Korean company is reportedly looking to increase its tablet market share next year and will do so by launching four slates within the first three months of 2014.
Even with a wide range of tablets already on the market, including the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, Samsung still believes it has room for expansion.
According to the Sammobile “insider”, the first of Samsung’s four new tablets will be the budget option Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, which will launch with a price tag of around €100 (£85).
Unfortunately, there’s no indication from the insider as to what the other three will be, but Samsung’s heavily rumoured 12.2-inch Galaxy Note may well make an appearance.
Earlier this month, a 12.2-inch Samsung Galaxy Note tablet passed through the FFC with the model number Samsung SM-P901.
Leaked benchmarks for the as yet unannounced 12.2-inch Galaxy Note suggested the tablet will feature a rather special 2560 x 1600p Full HD display running Android 4.4 KitKat.
It should be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM, matching the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
The super-sized slate is also tipped to feature 32GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing option for video calls.
Connectivity wise, all we know so far is that there will be a 3G compatible version of the 12.2-inch Galaxy Note available at launch, as suggested by the FCC filing.
With both CES and MWC technology shows falling within Q1 2014, expect Samsung to be lifting the lid on four new tablets across the two.
