A 24-carat gold Xbox One is on sale at Harrods, priced at a whopping £6,000.
If you’ve got a fair amount of surplus cash and fancy a bling-tastic 24-carat gold Xbox One, Harrods is prepared to fill your rather unique needs.
The £6,000 gold Xbox One was spotted by a Reddit user in the Harrods department store in London.
If you’re wondering what else you get for that price tag, you’ll be disappointed. Underneath the shiny gold exterior is your standard Xbox One console.
The Xbox One is usually priced at £429 and comes complete with Kinect, a Wireless Controller, a chat headset and a 4k enabled HDMI cable.
It isn’t known whether the gold Xbox One is packaged with a gold Kinect or other accessories, but we doubt anyone is going to fork out the cash to find out.
The Xbox One was released on November 22 in 13 global markets and has since sold over 2 million units, according to Microsoft’s figures.
“We continue to be humbled and overwhelmed by the positive response from our fans,” said Yusuf Medhi, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of Strategy and Marketing for Xbox. “We are thrilled to see sales of Xbox One on a record-setting pace, with over 2 million Xbox One consoles in homes around the world.”
The Xbox One is sold out at most retailers, with some suggesting new stock will arrive on January 8.
“We’re also particularly excited to see consumers engaging in a wide range of games and entertainment experiences on the platform, with more than 1 million paid transactions on Xbox Live to date,” added Medhi.
A gold or diamond encrusted PS4 has yet to be spotted in Harrods, but watch this space.
