Uncharted for PS4 release confirmed by Sony and Naughty Dog

Ahead of last night’s PS4 release date in the US, Sony has promised exciting new things for the next-gen console with an Uncharted for PS4 release confirmed.

With Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception having received consumer and industry acclaim last year for pushing the capabilities of the outgoing PS3 to its limits, Sony has now confirmed that a new Uncharted for PS4 release is already in the works.

While the gaming giant has yet to state when we can expect the next instalment of the Naughty Dog developed franchise, the game, currently detailed under the simple working headline ‘Uncharted’ is expected to make full use of the increased PS4 capabilities.

According to developer Naughty Dog, the Uncharted for PS4 release will “continue what we’ve done in previous console generations and once again deliver the best in storytelling, performance capture, technical innovation and graphics on the PS4.”

Offering few concrete details on the upcoming game, an Uncharted for PS4 trailer has been introduced alongside the announcement, with US actor Todd Stashwick voicing a seemingly villainous new character set to be the lead antagonist of the future title.

With Stashwick’s character having appeared to have been left for dead by Drake, Sony has revealed the new game will see Drake’s Deception Director Justin Richmond and Creative Director and Writer Amy Hennig once again join forces.
