PS4 sold out for Christmas delivery at Amazon

Amazon has just broken many a Christmas dream, confirming any new PS4 pre-orders will now not be shipped until after the festive period.

With the PS4 release date to see Sony’s next-gen console hit British shores on November 29, leading online retailer Amazon has announced that it will no longer be able to guarantee a pre-Christmas arrival for any newly placed orders.

Updating its product listings for the Nintendo Wii U rival today, Amazon UK has stated of the PS4: “Customers who pre-order this console from November 14 will receive their consoles after Christmas.”

Further clarifying when eager gamers can expect their PS3 follow-ons, the company added: “Customers who pre-ordered this console from August 7 up to and including November 13 will receive their consoles before Christmas.”

Although the Xbox One release date will see the 360 replacement go on sale on November 22, seven days prior to the PS4, the Microsoft branded rival still has some pre-Christmas availability according to Amazon.

The latest update on the retailer’s Xbox One listing reads: “Orders from August 15 may be delivered after release date, but will be delivered before Christmas. Orders placed up to and including August 14 will be dispatched to meet the release date.”

With PS4 pre-orders having exceeded one million units in just two weeks, Day One versions of the eagerly awaited console have been sold out for some time.

With the Sony console set to go on sale in the US tomorrow, November 15, early adopters have already reported a range of PS4 problems, including bricking issues and faulty connection ports.
