HTC One 2 tipped to be 5-inch Snapdragon 800 powerhouse

New HTC One 2 specs have leaked, with the upcoming flagship phone tipped to boast a 5-inch display and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.

With the HTC One having been one of the most popular handsets of 2013, bringing the Taiwanese handset manufacturer back to the fore, a direct follow-on has been mooted for an early 2014 arrival, with rumoured HTC One 2 specs now emerging.

Currently doing the rounds under the working title of the HTC M8 (the One was originally known as the M7), the HTC One 2 specs have hit the web courtesy of the Twitter-based serial tech tipster @evleaks.

A source reportedly on point with its leaks, rumours and predictions, a Tweet from the @evleaks account yesterday read: “Sounds like the HTC M8 is -- and you could probably predict -- a 5-inch, 1080p handset powered by KitKat and a Snapdragon 800.”

Although the rumoured HTC One 2 specs are a step up on the One’s current offerings, they don’t look set to move the upcoming handset ahead of the market’s current powerhouses.

Both the Google Nexus 5 and LG G2 are currently powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and feature 1080p Full HD displays around the 5-inch mark.

Recent HTC One 2 specs have tipped the handset for a pre-MWC 2014 unveiling, a move that would likely see the phone enter the realms of reality just weeks ahead of the heavily rumoured Samsung Galaxy S5.
