It's not you, it's me.

GPS tracking collars for your pets are nothing new, but Wüf is more advanced than most. It aims to help you build a better relationship with your dog. At least that's the theory.

Using its sensors and trackers, it monitors your dog's movements, sounds and activities to find out what it gets up to when you're away. Not only that, it monitors you as well – how you talk to your dog, what kind of walks you take etc to build a picture of the type of relationship you have. From there, it makes suggestions to help improve your dog's behaviour, and find new ways to bond and play.

It sounds a bit like relationship counselling to us, but we're willing to give it a try.

So what's inside? A microphone helps analyse your dog's barks, while GPS shows where he or she is at any given time. An accelerometer shows when they're most active and how much they sleep during the day, so you can see if they're getting enough exercise.

You can speak to your dog from anywhere in the world thanks to the built-in speaker (which could be comforting or confusing for the dog, depending on your view), and you can make it vibrate to get its attention.

It syncs to your phone over Bluetooth, but also has a network connection for when you're out of range.

It's an ambitious idea, but we're all in favour of that. It still needs $16,000 to reach its funding goal on Kickstarter, and there are only 10 days to go, so pledge now if you're a fan.
