A new report suggest that Motorola is planning to launch eight new smartphones before Christmas, one of them being the Google Nexus 6.
Most expect the Google Nexus 6 to be officially unveiled in line with the consumer availability of Android L later this autumn.
Well, new TKTechNews sources from within Motorola itself suggest that the Nexus 6 will be one of 8 new phones released by the company between now and Christmas.
The sources suggest that the phones will include:
- Motorola Droid 5
- Motorola Droid Maxx 2
- A new Motorola Droid Turbo
- Motorola Moto S
- Motorola Moto G 2
- Motorola Moto X 1
- Motorola Moto X Play
The Motorola Moto S is expected to be one of the first Android Silver handsets and come with a 5.9-inch display, just like the Nexus 6.
However, the sources suggest that some of the devices, including the X Play may be scrapped depending on the performance of other handsets.
Previously the Droid line has been an exclusive to American network provider Verizon. But, rumour has it that all three of the upcoming Droid phones could be released on AT&T too under different branding.
Apparently there could even be some kind of Star Wars promotion going on too.
As for the Motorola Moto G 2, it is expected to feature a 5-inch 1280 x 720p HD display running on an 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM.
It is also tipped to have an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing alternative.
The first Moto X 1 rumours have also been doing the rounds of late. It should feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.6GHz with 2GB of RAM. It could also come with a 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front snapper and a 5.2-inch full 1080p HD display.
