Xbox One and PS4 Tomb Raider title to launch in January

An Xbox One and PS4 bound Tomb Raider title has been confirmed, with Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition to go next-gen in January.

An enhanced version of the March released Xbox 360 and PS3 Tomb Raider offering, the reworked next-gen Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition has been “re-built specifically for next-gen consoles,” developer Crystal Dynamics has confirmed.

Launching in the US on January 28, a European Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition release date has been set for January 31 for both the Xbox One and PS4.

"See Lara Croft like never before," the game’s description reads. "With every bead of sweat, strand of hair, and article of clothing delivered in obsessive detail. Endure a stunningly re-imagined island, fraught with new, unforgiving storms, and alive with motion."

As well as featuring enhanced graphics over it’s the past-generation release, the new Xbox One and PS4 Tomb Raider offering will come bolstered by the full array of DLC offering released for the 360 and PS3 title.

This collection of previously post-release content included the Tomb of the Lost Adventurer, a digital mini art book, digital comic The Beginning and six alternative outfits from the franchise’s lead character Lara Croft.

With both the Xbox One and PS4 having launched in the UK in recent weeks, Sony’s next-gen console has gone on to break sales records, with more than 2.1 million console units having sold during its opening two weeks on sale.
