The GTA 5 story is set to get a few new chapters, with publisher Rockstar confirming it will add to the game’s single player narrative next year.
With a GTA 5 release date having been held back in September, the game’s publisher has now confirmed that the core storyline at the heart of the record-breaking game will be further bolstered by a DLC release in the near future.
“Expect big things in both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V next year,” an official Rockstar spokesperson confirmed before promising “GTA 5 story mode updates.”
They added: “For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas.”
Not limiting its new additions solely to the narrative single player modes, Rockstar has revealed that new additions to the multiplayer GTA Online is also on the way.
“We know many of you in the GTA Online community are super excited for the debut of co-operative Heists,” the publisher stated. “Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more detail in the New Year.”
GTA 5 set a number of records at launch earlier this year, becoming the biggest entertainment launch in history by grossing more than $1 billion in just its opening three days on sale.
