Rovio has launched Angry Birds Go, a downhill soapbox racer game featuring all the characters from the popular game series.
The birds and the pigs are getting behind the wheel of a soapbox racer in Angry Birds Go, the first 3D Angry Birds adventure from Rovio.
The free app is available for free on iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8 and BlackBerry 10 devices, but does feature sponsored power-ups and advertising to support the lack of download cost.
Angry Birds Go features 50 soapbox carts that can be driven throughout the game, all of which can be upgraded by collecting bird coins or making an in-app purchase.
Courses in Angry Birds Go include speedways, canyon tracks, stunt roads and airborne races.
Similar to Angry Birds Star Wars 2, you can purchase Hasbro’s Telepods figures for Angry Birds Go, which will teleport your favourite characters (and carts) into the game via your device’s front-facing camera.
Rovio has also teased exciting new content that will be introduced to Angry Birds Go in the next year.
“Like all our games, fun new content and exciting gameplay will be brought in through future game updates. In spring 2014 we’ll be bringing multiplayer to Angry Birds Go”, said Rovio. “Both local and online competitive experiences are in the works, so stay tuned”.
The game launched today, December 11, free on Android, Windows Phone 8, BlackBerry 10 and iOS, so no-one misses out on Angry Birds Go.
