Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney will arrive in European markets early 2014, previously only available in Japan.
As part of the latest Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has announced the 3DS cross over Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney will arrive in Europe early next year.
The European arrival of the game was announced last year, but the2014 release date was revealed by Satoru Shibta during the Nintendo Direct stream earlier today.
The crossover from Level 5 and Capcom was original announced in October 2010, eventually launching in Japan in November 2012. It was so popular it entered the Japanese gaming chart at number 2.
The 3DS game places Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright in a medieval location called Labyrinth City. The main antagonist is called the Story Teller, with the entire city filled with witches that dwell in the shadows.
Of course, Layton must solve puzzles to make sense of the Story Teller’s creations that come to life as he writes, as with every other game in the Professor Layton series.
Phoenix Wright on the other hand has to defend a citizen who has been accused of witchcraft, as with the series’ previous titles.
Layton and Wright’s sidekicks, Maya and Luke will both make appearances within the storyline as well.
Nintendo also announced that Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy will be the last game in the series’ second trilogy. It will be released on 3DS in Europe on November 8.
It will see Professor Layton travelling the world to solve the riddles of an ancient civilisation.
