The Nokia Lumia 1020 UK release date and price have leaked online, revealing that the 41-megapixel camera smartphone will be the priciest Lumia to date.
Touching down in the UK on September 5, the recently unveiled Nokia Lumia 1020 will be priced at £599.99 unlocked and SIM-free making it the most expensive Nokia Lumia device on the market.
Dearer than the Nokia Lumia 925 and Nokia Lumia 920, the Nokia Lumia 1020 UK price and release date were leaked by online retailer Expansys, where consumers can currently pre-order the device.
However, Unlocked-Mobiles.com has priced the Nokia Lumia 1020 a little lower at £550 SIM-free.
No UK network providers currently have a subsidised locked version of camera-centric smartphone listed, but we’ll keep you posted.
Nokia Lumia 1020 Features
The Nokia Lumia runs Windows Phone 8 on a 4.5-inch AMOLED screen with a 1280 x 768p resolution, protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
Packing a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, Nokia is also offering 7GB of SkyDrive cloud storage for the Nokia Lumia 1020.
Unfortunately the smartphone only has a 2000mAh battery, but users can opt to purchases the snap-on Nokia Camera Grip that offers easily access to camera features, a tripod screw mount but also an additional 1,200mAh battery capacity.
Launching in black, white and yellow, the Nokia Lumia 1020’s key selling point is its 41-megapixel PureView camera with Carl Zweiss lens technology. It also has built-in second generation optical image stabilisation and uses oversampling technology.
Claiming to reinvent zoom, users can zoom into details on the images they’ve taken, without reducing the image quality. Part of the Finnish smartphone manufacturer’s new “shoot first, zoom later” philosophy, the Nokia Lumia 1020 will also allow users to edit and reframe their shoots to “tell a different story”.
