HTC One Max images leaked

The first images appear to have leaked of the HTC One Max, the company's first phablet device with a 5.9-inch display.

We've had a good idea that the HTC One Max is in the works and set to take its place alongside the HTC One and HTC One Mini for a while now, but this is the first time we've actually seen the chunky smartphone.

Taiwanese website ePrice has seemingly posted two images of the HTC One Max, which very much follows the design template set out by the HTC One, with an all-metal frame.

The image appears to show off the HTC One Max's large display, which is said to be 5.9-inches in size. The report confirms that the phone will run on a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU backed by 2GB of RAM.

There'll also be a microSD slot for storage expansion purposes, and once again you can expect to see HTC's UltraPixel camera technology lowering the megapixel count but boosting the amount of light each one captures.

Battery life should get a boost with the inclusion of a 3,300mAh battery unit.

Don't be surprised to see the HTC One Max make an official appearance at next month's IFA event in Berlin, where it could well go head to head with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Interestingly, the report claims that the HTC One Max may feature a stylus feature, which would certainly place it into direct confrontation with the aforementioned Samsung phablet.

HTC has experimented with stylus peripherals before with the HTC Flyer, which wasn't exactly a huge success.
