Samsung Galaxy Note Edge US release date confirmed

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date is on its way, with the innovative, curved-screened smartphone heading to US retailers in a matter of days.

Although we’re still waiting on confirmation of an exact UK launch for the Note Edge, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 4 spin-odd will land stateside next week.

“[The] Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will be available in the U.S. beginning next Friday, November 14,” an official Samsung spokesperson said in making the announcement.

They added: “The Galaxy Note Edge is the first smartphone of its kind with a functional, curved display for interruption-free notifications.”

While the UK is left waiting, the US is not the first territory to be offered the Edge. Last month the curved phone made its global bow in Japan before filtering out to Samsung’s native Korea.

Unveiled during IFA 2014 back in September, the Galaxy Note Edge features a 5.6-inch QHD display which has been flexed around the right-hand edge of the handset.

As well as sporting a stunning 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, the Note Edge’s display offers easy access to your favourite app shortcuts, notification info or all other manner of customizable controls.

Special screen aside, the handset is something of a powerhouse in its own right. With a 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor under the hood, the Edge runs 3GB of RAM and a 3000mAh, fast charging Lithium-Ion battery.

With a 16-megapixel, OIS enhanced camera sat on the rear, the Note Edge’s specs sheet is rounded off by a secondary, 3.7-megapixel snapper up front, 32GB of internal storage – expandable via microSD – and a new, 8.3mm thick metal framed body.

We recently contacted Samsung regarding a Note Edge UK release date. At present the company has no further details to share on the LG G Flex challenger.
