Jawbone is looking to bring its impressive fitness tracking credentials to the masses as the Jawbone UP Move is unveiled at a sub-£40 tracker.
The barebones wearable, which can be clipped to a belt loop or paired with an optional extra wrist band, can help monitor your steps and calorie burn as well as keep tabs on your sleep patterns.
“Up Move is a fun, easy way to track activity and at just £39.99, it’s a great option for anyone at the beginning of a fitness or weight loss journey,” Travis Bogard, Jawbone’s Vice President of Product Management and Strategy said.
He added: “Incorporating the same best-in-class lifestyle and activity-tracking features of our UP and UP24 bands, UP Move combines style, versatility and comfort with highly accurate tracking and personalised guidance.”
Jawbone UP Move Features
As you would expect from any fitness tracker, the UP Move is capable of capturing the usual array of metrics. From step count and distance travelled to calorie burn and active time, the Move tackles them all.
With Jawbone’s trademark sleep tracking also thrown in for good measure – assuming you plump for an additional wrist strap – the Move lines up as a high value alternative to the Misfit Flash and Fitbit Zip.
Further aiding the UP Move’s fitness tracking credentials, all captured data – fed via Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy to the synced smartphone app – is pushed into Jawbone’s new Smart Coach features.
Learning from your activity, the Smart Coach helps customise plans to hit desired goals and targets, be they weight loss, distances or around more consistent sleep cycles.
The Move will be available in a host of colour combinations at launch including ruby rose with a red punch clip and blue burst with a fog clip.
Jawbone UP Move Release Date and Price
Although a precise Jawbone UP Move release date has yet to be confirmed, the American manufacturer has confirmed the device will touch down later this month.
For those who can’t wait to get their hands on the device, UP Move pre-orders will open up this Friday, November 7. The device is set to be stocked in a range of retailers, including Apple stores, John Lewis, Amazon and Selfridges.
