Images of a Microsoft-stamped smartphone have been leaked online via Weibo, with the device purported to be next in the Lumia line-up.
What’s most interesting about this device is that there’s no mention of Nokia whatsoever – the back and front are emblazoned with Microsoft’s own tag.
It’s not unexpected – Microsoft confirmed it was officially binning the Nokia name early this month, instead opting for Microsoft Lumia for future handsets.
The images come courtesy of Chinese regulator TENAA, and show a device called the RM-1090.
It’s also listed as dual-SIM (read: not 4G) which supports theories that this device will rank in at the lower end of Microsoft’s Lumia range.
Microsoft’s released a raft of Lumia devices in the past few months, namely the 530, the 630, the 730 , and the 830. There’s no telling what the mystery orange device spotted on Weibo will be called just yet, however.
It’s worth noting that the device is likely to launch before Christmas, and should price up fairly low considering the underwhelming specs expected to be in tow.
The web’s rumour-spinners are suggesting we’re looking at dimensions similar to the Lumia 830, and a display touting a 960 x 640 resolution.
The image also shows off an orange-hued handset – not unlikely, considering Microsoft’s propensity for bright, garish smartphone paintjobs.
