Apple Watch headed for spring 2015 release according to leak

Apple's hotly anticipated smartwatch, the Apple Watch, may not launch until the spring.

Of course, we get many rumours and tips about the Apple Watch from supposed supply chain sources and shady anonymous figures, but this one appears to come from within Apple itself.

9to5Mac reckons that transcript of a recent video message to retail store staff from Apple Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores Angela Ahrendts has escaped out into the open.

In the message, Ahrendts supposedly says that Apple will "go into Chinese New Year, and then we've got a new watch launch coming in the spring."

Up to now, Apple has maintained the line that emerged at the Watch's September unveiling, and that is that the Apple Watch is shipping "early 2015." For all we knew (and hoped), this could have meant January.

However, this latest leak, if genuine, suggests that an Apple Watch release is at least four months away, with a March or April launch on the cards.

Apple chief Tim Cook recently claimed that the Apple Watch would be a "game changer," and that "we are going to wonder how we ever lived without it."

With the Apple boss also recently confirming that the company's smartwatch will need to be charged every night, it seems we'll be wondering how we ever lived without a four-way power adaptor by the bed as well.
