Microsoft has officially cut the Xbox One price down to £329.99, pushing it lower than the PS4 price.
Rather than announcing the price drop in an Xbox Wire post, Microsoft has quietly cut the RRP of the Xbox One via the Microsoft Store and in a new Forza Horizon 2 TV advertisement.
The Xbox One price is now just £329.99, down from the £349.99 price cut back in June. That price was for the announcement of the Kinect-free console, rather than the pre-bundled option introduced at launch.
The new price for the standalone, Kinect-free Xbox One sees Microsoft’s latest console retail for £20 less than the PS4.
The upcoming white Xbox One Sunset Overdrive bundle is also getting the price cut apparently, with retailers like Amazon offering the package for £329.
This new price cut could be a sign of warning bells ringing at Microsoft’s HQ. Sony recently announced that the PS4 UK sales alone had reached 1 million, mostly down to white PS4 Destiny bundles. That game alone saw PS4 sales in the UK jump by 300 per cent.
Microsoft has been schtum for quite some times on sales figures for the Xbox One, despite introducing a variety of hardware/software bundles for the console, which retail for around the £349.99 mark.
The PS4 apparently enjoyed its biggest week ever in the UK on Destiny launch week, with sales outpacing Xbox One two to one according to Chart-Track.
