iPhone 6 price leaks alongside September 19 release date

A claimed iPhone 6 price has leaked, with reports suggesting the upcoming handset will set wannabe owners back £500 when it lands this September.

Although Apple has yet to formally acknowledge the existence of any such device, the iPhone 6 rumour mill has been churning hard in recent weeks, teasing a number of aspects of the expected phone, with a claimed iPhone 6 price now joining the mix.

According to Chinese site Laoyaoba, unnamed sources have suggested that the mid-level 32GB iPhone 6 will cost 5,288 Chinese Yuan (£499), while the 64GB iteration will set wannabe owners back a reported 6,288 Yuan (£593).

With the 16GB iPhone 5S currently priced at £549, this suggests a potential iPhone-themed price cut could be on the cards.

We must stress, however, that given the less than official nature of these leaks, the claimed iPhone 6 pricing and release details should be taken with one of those ladle sized pinches of salt.

As well as teasing the potential iPhone 6 price, the Chinese tipsters have also claimed that an iPhone 6 release date will be held on September 19.

A date previously teased by a German network, the September 19 date fits with the predicted iPhone 6 release window and would likely follow a formal unveiling around September 10.

Recent iPhone 6 rumours have suggested that the handset will land in two guises, as 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models are reportedly being readied for launch.

As well as an increased display – designed to fend off the onslaught of oversized Android phones – the iPhone 6 specs sheet will reportedly be bolstered by iOS 8, an A8 processor and revised camera.
