As the tech world waits for the incoming raft of Snapdragon 805 powered smartphones, leaked benchmarks have shown that the Exynos 5433 chip will be more powerful than its more illustrious rival.
With the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 set to be made available in two guises – one powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, the other running Samsung’s own Exynos 5433 – the latest leaks have suggested those offered the Exynos option will be getting a better deal.
According to leaked AnTuTu benchmark tests, the Exynos 5433 and Snapdragon 805 chips sit behind just the NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor in performance charts, although there is something of a gulf between the two.
In a test which measure core processing power, the Exynos 5433 marked a score of 40,303 compared with the Snapdragon 805’s 35,645 points.
Needless to say, in this benchmark, the higher the figure the more grunt the chipset has to offer.
It’s not just about base power either, according to a separate test, the Exynos SoC comprehensively beat the graphical abilities of the Snapdragon chip too.
Although both processing units are set to feature in versions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, it appears likely that the two versions of the phone will be targeted towards different territories.
While it is likely that both the UK and US will receive the Snapdragon 805 powered Note 4, Samsung’s Native Korea and a select group of smaller markets will be offered the Exynos-based handset.
Although Samsung is yet to officially acknowledge the existence of such a device, recent reports have claimed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be officially unveiled as part of the manufacturer’s IFA 2014 efforts this September.
As well as a hearty amount of power, leaked Samsung Galaxy Note 4 specs have suggested a 16-megapixel camera and 5.7-inch QHD display with a 2560 x 1440 pixel display will be included.
