The Google I/O keynote starts tonight, June 25 at 5pm BST and you’ll be able to watch all of Google’s announcements as they happen.
Unlike the Apple WWDC keynote, anyone with access to a computer can watch the Google I/O keynote live stream online.
If you head to the Google Events page, you can watch everything happening live during the conference in the first window.
Google will then update the coloured squares below later with key highlights of the conference so you can catch up if you miss the live stream later tonight.
Although the entire contents of the developers’ conference keynote has yet to be discerned, Google has already confirmed it will use the stage to present the upcoming version of Android.
It was confirmed by none other than Sundar Pichai, senior vice president at Google and head of Android.
Usually, the brand new Android OS would be announced and detailed in the autumn, but this year, Google’s doing it early.
“I want the world to understand what we are doing sooner,” said Pichai, when teasing the I/O announcement.
Google will no doubt spend a great portion of the I/O keynote focusing on Android Wear, its wearable and smartwatch platform and the new features it will bring. There should also be mention of the first three Android Wear smartwatches, the previously announced LG G Watch and Moto 360 as well as a new one from Samsung.
Rumoured also to be on the keynote agenda is Android TV. Building on the success of Chromecast, it seems Google may launch its own set top box to bring Android to HDTVs properly.
It tried to do TV back in 2010 in Google TV, but it never quite took off, but a set top box should be much more successful than its previous attempt.
It’s possible that Google may also explain what its smart home plans are in the future, following its Nest acquisition earlier this year.
