Samsung mocks Galaxy S6 rumour mill

Glass Galaxy S6

Samsung has launched a new website that mocks the weight of rumour and speculation surrounding the launch of its next flagship phone, the Galaxy S6.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 will be officially announced on March 1, just prior to the opening of MWC 2015. Sure enough, we've seen an abundance of rumours, leaks, and wild speculation relating to the device.

That's something that Samsung Norway has cheekily riffed off in a series of supposed teaser images under the theme "Is This the Next?"

These teasers involve a series of widely circulated rumours from anonymous tech blogs, which Samsung then interprets with some rather literal renders.

The first rumour involves the Galaxy S6's supposed front-facing speakers, which has prompted a ridiculous render of a phone with a pair of slide-out full-length speakers.

Another involves the clumsily worded rumour that the Galaxy S6 would have "three sides." Sure enough, the supplied render involves a triangular prism-shaped phone that looks more like Neil Young's Pono than a smartphone.

As of today, the most recent addition relates to the suggestion from some quarters that the Galaxy S6 will be an "all-glass" affair. The associated render shows a handset built entirely from clear glass, with its internal board clearly visible inside.

Of course, just as these light-hearted digs are deliberately preposterous, there's a chance that they contain a grain of truth. The final Galaxy S6 could well have a lot of glass, multiple facets (in the form of a wrap-around display) and front-mounted speakers.

We'll find out for sure on Sunday.
