HTC One M9 render

A collection of HTC One M9 renders have leaked, pointing towards a device markedly similar in appearance to the existing HTC One M8.

With the M9 set to be officially unveiled next Sunday, March 1, a number of official looking renders have made a premature appearance (via MobileGeeks), teasing the upcoming handset’s design.

Echoing previous leaks and a recent spate of rumours, the latest M9 images show a curved backed, brushed-metal handset with a large camera in a square housing.

This oversized snapper looks increasingly likely to replace the dual-lens offering which defined, but ultimately disappointed, on the M8.

Imaging abilities aside, the M9 looks set to closely resemble its predecessor, at least on an aesthetics front.

While the now trademark front-facing stereo speakers look set to make an appearance, beneath the surface things are expected to be dramatically different.

Tipped to run Qualcomm’s new 64-bit, octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor alongside 3GB of RAM, the HTC One M9 specs sheet is expected to be enhanced by Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, a new Sense 7.0 UI and 32GB of internal storage – expandable via microSD.

While latest trends are for larger, QHD displays, the M9 is mooted to be heading for launch with the same 5-inch, 1080p, Full HD panel as its predecessor in tow.

This will likely be paired with a 20-megapixel, OIS enhanced primary camera and a secondary, 4-Ultrapixel snapper up front.
