Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi already hinted it has a new handset up its sleeve for a launch tomorrow, but now it looks like it has more than one.

Earlier in the week, it tweeted an image that many took to refer to the Mi 5, the next instalment in the Mi series. But now it's tweeted another teaser, this one reading "NOT5", along with the message: "NOT5 – Look a little closer, what do you see? Join the FB event for the big reveal tmr, 2pm!"

In other words, it could launch the Redmi Note 2 – maybe branded as the Mi 5 Plus – alongside the Mi 5 tomorrow, Android Central reports.

An image of the Mi 5 Plus has also leaked courtesy of leaksfly on Twitter. If genuine, it looks like the phone will have a bezel so thin it barely exists. Someone get that bezel a cheeseburger.

The Mi 5 Plus is thought to boast a Snapdragon 805 SoC, along with a 1,440x2,560-pixel screen, 3GB of RAM, and 16 or 64GB of internal storage. The rest of the specs are a mystery, but we should find out tomorrow, so stay tuned. We're not sure if we'll be as blown away as the Xiaomi employees in the video below were when they first saw the handset, but who knows.

Xiaomi took to the podium as the world's third biggest smartphone maker last year, though it only held the accolade for a day, until Lenovo bought Motorola. The company managed to triple its sales last year, and in so doing took a chunk of Samsung's market share.
