Microsoft has dropped the price of the Xbox One yet again as it strives to overhaul Sony's PS4 lead.
The Xbox One's price has been sliced to a "special price" of $349, according to Xbox Wire.
If that sounds familiar, it's because Microsoft already dropped the Xbox One to that same price back in October. The new price lasted over the Christmas period until January 3, when it went back up to $399.
Now Microsoft has reinstated that earlier price drop after enjoying a very strong end to 2014 (but presumably not a great start to 2015).
Indeed, the company has revealed that not only did it outperform in the PS4 in November, as was previously revealed, but it also sold better than its great rival in December too.
Not only were Xbox One hardware sales strong in these months, but Microsoft also sold more games than Sony during the same period.
You've probably noticed that those sales figures have been quoted in dollars. That's because the price only seems to apply to Microsoft's native US at this point.

There's no news of a UK equivalent just yet, but then our Xbox One prices don't appear to have fluctuated quite so dramatically as they have for our American cousins.
Since launch the Xbox One has dropped from being £100 more expensive than the PS4's initial £349 price tag (thanks largely to initially obligatory presence of Microsoft's Kinect device in the bundle) to being around £30 cheaper at the £300 mark today. That seems set to remain the case for now.
