Samsung’s rumoured Orbis smartwatch will have a rotating bezel surrounding its circular face, according to speculation published on Thursday.
SamMobile sources claim the watch will have a crown-shaped power button on the side and a bezel ring around the face.
The report says Samsung isn’t looking to bring Apple Watch-like functionality to the side-loaded crown. The power button will be reserved for switching the device on and off and waking it from sleep, just like Samsung’s other smart watches, according to the report.
Those input tasks will instead be delegated to the rotating bezel. The site speculates functions like zooming in an out, setting alarms and moving between apps and menus could be handled by the ring.
Word of the Orbis first leaked out earlier this month, from the same source, with all manner of recent Samsung patents pointing to the features.

Samsung is staying mum about its next-generation smartwatch, but all indications are it will land MWC 2015, which takes place in March in Barcelona.
There’s no indication yet whether the Orbis will arrive running Android Wear or whether Samsung will continue to move towards its homebrewed Tizen operating system.
The company has already made great strides with the OS this year having launched a host of Smart TVs running the software at CES 2015.
