EA Games has announced the first Titanfall DLC pack, named Expedition, will land in May.
Titanfall: Expedition DLC is the first of three content packs to be released for the online-only multiplayer Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC game.
It was officially announced during a PAX East presentation and then re-confirmed via the Titanfall Twitter account over the weekend.
The Expedition DLC pack will include three new maps for the Frontier, named Runoff, Swamplands and Wargames.
Apparently Swamplands is based on “archaic alien technology” and will feature tree running, allowing you to leap between trees and run along the canopy.
Runoff will feature water in some capacity and then War Games is based on the Titanfall training simulator.
“In the wake of the Battle of Demeter, IMC Expeditionary Forces travel deep into Frontier space to recover from their recent defeat,” explains EA Games. “On an uncharted world, the IMC begin construction of a new fleet operations base, using newly acquired water collection and filtration plants to support the new base.”
“When drainage operations reveal ancient ruins and artefacts of an unknown origin in a nearby swamp, Spyglass activates an archaeological team to investigate the site. The maintain battle readiness at the new base, IMC Pilots use simulation pods to train for anticipated Militia raids, based on lessons learned in Angel City and IMC Airbase Sierra.”
An EA Games spokesperson also confirmed that the free updates offering new game modes and burn cards are incoming.
Experimental features like HUD-free video capture and potentially “rifts or variants” of existing game modes could also be introduced soon.
Titanfall Expedition costs £7.99 as a standalone DLC, or you can get it as part of the Titanfall Season Pass, priced at £19.99.
